Mother Bobbie Miles

Mother Miles, is a fundamental part of the Salt of the Earth Baptist Church's foundation.  Her love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, gives her the strengh continue the dream that her late husband, our founding Pastor, Claudell Miles began more than 50 years ago.  Her desire to press on and remain dedicated to the cause of bringing the love of Christ, His message, and His example to the community and in the church, she has been an example of strength and stabilty for us all.    

She married Pastor Miles in February 1963, and started as a Pastor's wife in 1975.  She and Pastor Miles ogether were the first walked through the doors of our church building at 4221 S. 4th Street, and the building was purchased in 1977.  She has made many sacrifices of time, energy, finances and care because she was lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.  She never questions the reason to do good to others.  Her faithful service to God gives her daily strength and peace.  

She has raised 10 children which includes birthing 3, adopting 7, and numerous other children who have spent years under her care.  She proudly stands firm and leans on God for her strength everyday. Her favorite song is "Oh Happy Day", by Edwin Hawkins Singers, she has various bible scriptures that she leans on but one that she uses often is:  Hebrews 13:5, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you."
